And a very nice job too. Nicely played and nicely recorded, good to hear something a little different on teh MBR.

Cheers,

Now that's nice. Don't know the specific piece, but good example of Baroque counterpoint. The recorders do give it that throwback to the Renaissance feel. Well played. Looking forward to more.
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Uh, yeah.  Often the big trouble with recorders is playing in tune; this piece is technically not too terribly difficult, so I really concentrated on breath pressure and making sure that everything stayed tight. I know that this ( http://www.podbean.com/podcast-detail?pid=37358 ) is what most people think recorders sound like, so playing in tune is becoming an important thing for me.   Sometimes you can cover up moderate tuning problems with percussion, but this piece didn't seem to want any. I might-could try the vivace part soon, but it's much more challenging and faster to boot.

G.P. Telemann was a 15th-16th century composer (died 1767) who wrote a bunch of really cool stuff for recorder. His folks wanted him to be a lawyer, but he quit to Become a Star instead. A lot of his stuff is still in the Standard Repertoire for the instrument. Back then, every gentleman was required to at least be able to tootle out the pop tunes of the day on a recorder.  Alas, the advent of the phonograph has Ruined Popular Culture (heh).
