I wanted to post something recorded with the stereo mic I built from the plans on this site (thanks Pedro!). I was a little shocked at how small these are. It was very fun trying to solder the wires on but I managed in the end. These mics are very sensitive. The background noise is the central air running.

Nice recording, Phil.  Sounds much better than mono!  The guitar (and playing) sound great too. How far apart did your capsuls end up and how are they oriented to each other?

I also recently built a stereo mic based on Pedros article (with the WM-61A capsuls) but incorporated a Jecklin Disk setup to increase the stereo separation. Am experimenting with it now and will post a sample soon.

And YES, those little babies are difficult to solder! Requires good eyes, a steady hand and soldering experience.  Oh well, at least I had some soldering experience...  :D

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

That was real nice, I cant play classical stuff worth a damm, can stumble through Romanza, Greensleeves etc but nothing like that. Recording sounded good too, apart from the background noise. I have one of the little Sony mikes but I cant get it to sound as good as the built in one. Will have to get back to it and try again.

Thanks Hooper.  I haven't really mounted the capsules in anything yet. They are kind of just dangling at the end of the wires. So I just layed them on the table and spread them about 6 inches apart and put a coffee mug over the wires to keep them from moving  :D. I have another set of these capsules and am trying to come up with a better mounting configuration for them.  Maybe pick up some aluminum tubing or something.  Heres a pic of the current mic...

Thanks Steve. Yeah I didn't realize just how bad the noise was until I posted it here and listened to it through headphones. I will definitely re-record this without the central air accompaniment!
