"Relay for Life" - new vocals/final mix?

Blooby

A friend of a friend wrote this tune as part of Relay for Life, part of The American Cancer Society as I understand it.  He needed a recording of it, and Dave, our drummer, volunteered our services.

The short version is that the our drummer spent a few minutes writing the simple progressions, and then we blew threw it a couple times.  Keep in mind this is a down and dirty demo, so yes, I know the spoken word part is corny (not to mention just awful) and the organ screech is unbelievably inappropriate (I didn't have the heart to edit it out.  It's too funny no matter how ill-placed.).  I'm also not a huge fan of the lyrics, but then it's straightforward, and maybe that's what it needs.  Who am I to judge?  I was just the hired guitarist.  I have to wonder if the final version will have an extended outro with screeching guitar.  I tend to think not.

Once again, sorry to be in lurk mode, but I had to juggle my schedule to retain a sense of "me."

With affection.

I think this song is going to be very effective.

That solo at the end was my favorite part.

Its a noble Cause Blooby, and the music is great. I have a new level of admiration for you. You're a good dude

The organ screech timing kills me, but I'm about as juvenile as they come.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Very well played and for a good cause. Although the message is being sent out with words that guitar solo was the highlight of the song. I'm the right hand man for a Dermatology Mohs Surgeon so we cure people of skin cancer every day. Great Tune!

Nice song, it's got a great vibe, and a serious message!
And where the hell did that organ screech come from? It's killing me  :D
this is a great song and the recording and balance is perfect.
