Sam Ash has the Samson MediaOne 3a Active Studio Monitors for $99/pair (MF doesn't carry Samson).

I brought a pair to replace my generic computer speakers, and the sonic different is amazing. I know I'll much better sounding mixes.

Plus, the MediaOne 3a has inputs for MP3 players, or other audio devices.

If you're on a budget, and a set of monitors for MBR or BR-600, these will work pretty good.
