A relative was going thru a breakup which prompted this one.
Sorry it's not very polished. It's just an evening's work/play on the Micro.
If you think it's got potential, I'll re-record and take out the flubs.
(Mostly the one-take synth piano stuff Lol.) Ran out of time this evening.

Great song Glenn, I liked the piano playing and chord structure. Definitely needs some more polishing on the production front but it would be well worth it. Please go back to it!

Cheers,

Nigel

Classic, laid-back 70's rock. This has a warm, golden feeling running through it. I really love it. You could polish it up a bit more, but it's sounding damn good as it stands. I like this a lot. Right up my street.

Thanks I appreciate the comments. I will be tweaking for sure.
Mostly balance, a touch of EQ and removing a few flubs and unnecessary rifs.
I like to do this kind of stuff in Audacity, not having a pro DAW program.
I'm pretty sure I usually spend as much time mixing & editing as I do recording.
How about you?

I like to mix as I go (panning, levels etc). By the time it comes to mastering, it's just minor tweaks to volume and reverb that's needed. It's not the most polished way of doing things, but in this digital age, I like a little 'roughness' to make everything sound human. Audacity is very useful, but I've gone back to basics lately and tend to just stick to the MBR. Nigel (Ferryman) will be very proud of me for this! Lol.

Personally, I think a 50-50 split between recording and mixing is too much. I think 75 to 80% on recording is a better balance.

I like the vox on this one a lot - I'm not a huge fan of reverb anymore, but think it sounds good here. I think the song itself is great the way it is - If you have the itch to tweak the sound more, then I think you should go for it. Not sure what you'd do, but that's always the fun part for me.

I'm finding myself mixing & editing less and less as I'm trying to learn to sing and play acoustic at the same time. My efforts have been focused more on setup (mic & input settings, room sound, mic patches, etc.), which I'm really getting into. Kind of like having everything all done before you start. I'll admit it's a lot tougher doing one takes, but that's what I need to be doing.

Anyway, you're getting really good with your production skills. I enjoy your songs a lot.
