Well, here's the second effort from my old University band. It's another song we originally wrote and performed in 1977 in a rather interesting punk/prog crossover stylee. The raw instrument tracks and vox were all recorded in a studio before Xmas when we met for a jam, altho the drums are Garageband as our real drummer wasn't available.

All mixing, production and post processing was done on the MBR (with a few stereo effects added in Cubase). I've been playing a lot with the mastering toolkit and feel I am getting the hang of using the tri-band compressor to bring all the instruments out in a balanced mix. Although I have to say this is a rather loud and full on track, so "balanced" may not be the best adjective here....

It's about the pressure on guys to be "macho" and is I guess a bit anti-jock in its sentiment (sorry to all you jocks out there....). But it's also another great workout from my buddies Thom (guitar) and Paul (keys). I'm on bass and vox.

Cheers,

Nigel

Wicked tune Nigel!

I love your vocal and the bass and keys kill! Parts of it remind me of Obscured By Clouds era Floyd - vocals and production.

What a great tune, some class musicanship going on, can hear all the sounds clearly so well produced.

Wow, I've hit this with cans and PC its awesomely produced. Every instrument stands out in its own way. That lead guitar is absolutely sick. This is loaded with energy. The bass is gripping.

3rd listen now and it just gets better.

Tharek just made a good point on skype, you sound like you're in your early 20's Nigel.
