Hi, I have changed this song a little bit, and changed the last verse, as I think it flows better.
Thanks to 64guitars, I am finding my way around the vox some what better.
Thanks to you all, I value your coments very much, as I have much to learn

Nice cover.  I thought the third verse was interesting.  The guitar playing was also very good.

A couple of comments on the engineering/production side of things:
First, your vocals were recorded too hot and clipped.  In fact, there may have been clipping on the guitar tracks as well, but its tough to tell on electric guitars.  In the digital age, you don't have to record everything as hot as possible like they did when they were recording to analog tape.  You can ease off on the record levels and even your fader levels when mixing.

Second thing regarding vocals, you should add some reverb or delay to them to fill them out.

All in all, a good cover.  A couple of adjustments to you recording technique and you will be sounding very polished in no time.

I agree with dwardzala.
The vocals need more integration with the rest of the song, they sound way too removed from the rest of the music.

Killer guitar sound though, what do you use?

Add some bass & a few drum fills, remixed vocals & before you know it ... You've got a bloody good cover version.

Hey ... We're all learning ... all the time. Valuable advice is a rare commodity. Mine is probably worth no more than £0.01, but you know what they say about looking after the pennies!!

The playing and vocals are great. The production tips are on the money. I sometimes wonder if it takes more to learn production than it does learning to play. If you're a die hard, and want to learn to produce, there are nuggets of wisdom all over throughout this forum.

I wish I could cherry pick all the production knowledge that has been passed out on this site and put it into one post.... but then it wouldn't make sense at all.

The guitar sounds wonderful.  Vocals are very good, you have a really cool voice.  Its all coming along nicely.  Every song you will get better and better.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Thank you all,
I think that TonyW has hit on the problem I face, trying to learn the production side is a whole new ball game, and in trueth I am only looking to get four or five songs right so I can use them to get more live work.

The songs that some put on this site are works of art, recorded by others who have a deep understanding of sound recording, and it would take me years to reach there standards.  As most of us, I am looking for a sound that faltters my voice, and once I have the right settings, I will be happy.

Long term, I intend to keep on working on the production side of music, and this is the best place for me to learn, and please remember that I really thank you all for all your help and encouragement that you have shown me.  If can help anyone here on this site I surely will in any that I can, so PLEASE keep on helping me, God I need all the help that I can get.

Hi sharks don't sleep,
I have recorded the song on the Boss Micro BR.
First guitar was set to bass and recorded on "GT10:Jazz Box".
Second guitar was set to trebel and recorded on "GT22:ST Clean".
Hope this helps.

I would be glad to start showing you the ropes with production. A member of this site has taken me under their wing, and it is only right to pay it forward. Shoot me a PM any time if you're interested.
