That is odd...I could have sworn that Audacity would not recognize my VST plugins within Audacity's won Plugins folder. I'll have to try it again when I get a moment.

That said, yeah - Audacity has an unusual implementation of VST support. I never could get 1.3.11 to recognize my existing Steinberg\VSTPlugins folder, and that pesky checkbox is not sticky (i.e., you have to go in and check it before you quit/relaunch the app).

Hopefully, the developers will be work out this usability issue while it is still beta.

Heard good reports about Blue Cat etc. My DAW isn't www-connected...so if a usb-stick will suffice...I may be ;D

I've got them. They are good. But I don't use them that often for some reason. I think because I mix fairly dry. Just a bit of chorus or delay or reverb, I don't need too much. And Blue Cat excels at those types of effects.
