thouston, I Literally left your house and holed up in my basement for the next 30 hours. Playing well is one thing, producing well is an entirely different thing. I used the tip on the frequency response (8000hz) on this one. it really changed the dynamics of the guitars.

48, Wiley, BB, launched, Osckilo, Tafka, Geir, Satch,

Thats the list of people who have taken me from a guy who knew about 6 chords to where I'm at now. I've put you all through some punishing noise, and just wanted to say thanks for your patience and support.

Ok, I'll see if I can do this without sounding like a complete moron. Each track is defaulted to take the full range of sound, because the track doesn't know you're playing guitar, bass, vocals, harp... you name it.

Long story short, the range of a guitar doesn't reach 8khz. on the high end. By trimming back the range, you can reproduce a guitar cab more accurately while being plugged directly in to the 1600.

Here's an article written by somebody a lot more educated than me, it will go into much greater detail.

sounds good man. One thing that has helped me a bunch in mixing was making sure the rhythm and lead guitars have thier own space, which for me was really hard because I am one of those players that just use a 6db boost and switch pickups for leads when I play live. Another big challenge for me is mixing the bass guitar with the kick drum... that one took a long time.

I agree with what you say completely about 'playing well' being one story and mixing and mastering being 2 more complete stories in what seems to be an epic triology.

At any rate, makes you really appreciate why it sometimes takes artists several years to produce a single album with 12 or so songs.

Tony, this is great. It's got real power and the rhythm section comes across really well. Nice work on the drums as well. It all hangs together very well and the lead sound is excellent. A lot of potential here indeed - I really look forward to hearing more as you continue your journey. You may feel you have a way to go but you have come a heck of a long way already. Great stuff!

Cheers,

Nigel
