lemme know what you all think :) this is my first  upload here at songcrafters. it is a cover of Robert Johnson's Love in vain. i recorded it in true MONOPHONIC sound on a Korg D1600MKII using an Oscar Schmidt resonator guitar, an old cheap shure"bullet"type mic  , i touch of brite/tile room reverb and a whole lot of 78 RPM scratchy effect . i was going for that hauntingly resonant "kansas city hotel room" sound that is present on all 20 or so tracks that johnson recorded ...i think i got as close as possible in the digital realm . i love to hear your comments. cheers all   chris

What do I think????!!!! Holy sh*t man, this is giving me tingles all over.  I haven't heard something this authentic and beautiful sounding in a while.  I'm in awe, I simply love this track Chris.  You have made my night, and my whole week with this track.  I think it sounds perfect the way it is, no tweaking needed.  Sweeeeeet.  My favorite song from the festival so far.

Great job Chris. Your vocals are perfect and the slide is smok'n. A lot of attention to detail..
Also great stuff on your myspace page.
Keep it up.

Oh yeah, Chris. I agree with everyone else - Fabulous job! Really authentic sounding, but still professional. The guitar and vox were awesome.

The only thing missing was the sound of the bus traffic on the street!  ;D

Sweeet!!!!

Very nice! I agree with the others you have spent some time getting that authentic blues sound. Our old band use to do a more modernized version of this with a jazzy, blues piano. You have captured a great feel & warmth to an awesome song.
