What is the best way to record stricty vocals and to upload them to a pc?

Well, the title says the question. I have no desire to play any instruments, I just want to write and sing lyrics and to hopefully collaborate with the other members of this site. I want a device that can record good quality vocal sound, and is able to upload directly onto the compute in an MP3 formate. Obviously I don't want to spend too much, so I'm looking for the best bang for the buck kind of thing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

get a used MicroBR !

Alternatively Behringer and others have released some low-budget usb condenser-mics of good quality. I'd still say go for the br ...

a low-low budget thing would be to buy a Sony stereo-mic .... those have fairly good quality (I have someting similar a ultracheap Yoga-mic which also has a power-adapter) the problem with a computer and a condencer is that thay most likely will pick up the noice from the computer .... a long chord can solve that somewhat ...

A usb mic into the free program audacity (and some free plug ins) would probably work for you. Not sure how the quality would work vs other methods.

Actually if you have an Iphone, get the voice band app for like 3 bucks and record your vocals and upload the wav files from that. The only thing is, it uses reverb and only reverb. At it's lowest setting it is still a bit of reverb. But it'd be super cheap to get started if you can run that app.

Yeah, the MicroBR was what I was thinking about.

Go for the MBR, sure you won't regret it!!!!!!!!

Almost all my vox are recorded with the mbr built-in mic and I'm really happy with the sound, most mbr-users here do the same!!

"Vox" is just another word for "vocals". It's used by lazy people who find big long words like "vocals" too difficult to type.  ::)
