laptop advice

i need some sort of audio interface so i can record guitar and mic to my laptop, soundcard only has headphone and mic input no line in, had a look on the net but so many different things out there was looking for something cheap.

I think I paid about US $40 for it.

(Fiddling with this and trying to make it work on my old computer is one of the things that led me to get a Micro BR--but I think my problems had more to do with the low specs on my old computer.  Even though I have a much better computer now, I rarely consider that I have the hardware to record directly into the computer.)

cheers ted, i just realised i have a creative audiy nx usb soundcard could i use that for the same purpose
