Hi...I'm wanting to delete stuff completely off my Br 600. I thought it would be a case of pressing *delete* or *undo* but nooooooo. I just cannot seem to get it to delete, its driving me insane! Very embarassment :-[

This will be of a help to me. Can't I record blank over what I don't want or does it remove memory space?

You can record over unwanted tracks but that won't reclaim the memory card space. To do that, you need to perform a Song Optimize (see page 87 of the BR-600 owner's manual).

You can also erase individual tracks instead of erasing the whole song.

  • Press UTILITY.
  • Cursor to TRK (Track Edit).
  • Cursor to ERS (Track Erase)
  • Turn TIME/VALUE wheel to select ALL and press ENTER.
  • Use the cursor buttons and the TIME/VALUE wheel to select the Track/V-Track to erase.
  • Press ENTER.

If you want to completely delete everything, than press Utility button, scroll to INT, press 'Enter', button, scroll to card and 'Initialize' (format) the card.

I can remeber having to delete everything any time I wanted to start a new song in hi-fi with the stock memory card, if you haven't already upgrade to a 1 gig memory card, if you still have the manual there should be a page thAt tells you which cards are compatable, oh yeah if you want to erase everything you should "initialize" the card which causes a reformat
