Hi Stan,

Sounds like you want to record the output of your MicroBR into Audacity? Have you chosen your sound card input in Audacity? Not sure at the moment, but you may also need to hit record to actually hear it?

Usually I do all my recording in the MicroBR itself, and if I need to use Audacity later I export WAV files from the MBR using the free BR Wave Converter software and then import them into Audacity for use.

Hope it helps,
cuth

Seriously Stan?

I've walked you through getting tracks recorded 4 different ways. What you want to do not only doesn't work well, its just a crappy way of doing it.

Last time you asked about this, we spent a week on it via PM, email, chat service..... Oh and don't forget I even made a video on how to use the MBR.

Matter of fact, this is your third attempt at this very process.

If anyone chooses to tackle this, let it be known, This is going to be a difficult and Fruitless journey.

hi tony

yes you've help me out using the BR which i'm forever grateful, all the emails and videos were spot on and yes i can now use the BR as you taught me,

actually what i'm asking is different i believe, i have friends who effortlessly use audacity to practice guitar using backing tracks and record their practice over those tracks, this is my goal

yes the BR can do this as you showed me but as we agreed this is not the intent of the BR, and not easy to do,

each time i try to use audacity and hook up my guitar to the computer nothing happens, no sound or movement of any kind on the screen, so that is my quandary, that's all !

are you using the micro br as an audio input, ie pluging guitar into guitar in then running a lead from your headphone socket to your pc audio card? that is do-able i would think.
but if you are trying to do this via the usb connection, that cant be done.

what OS are you running on your computer? ... You'll need to find the input mixer (not default) and make sure the line in (or mic in if that's where you're plugged in) is not musted or level set to 0.

On XP and earlier you have to open the volume control selecting "options" - "properties" from the menu and select "recording" then you'll get the input mixer.

We covered that too Stan.

You need to make sure your audio settings for your mic are turned on.

down by the clock on the lower right hand side of your screen...

 right click on the speaker

Open Volume Controls

click on options

click in the circle for "recording"

in the "show the following volume controls" box......

Make sure all selections are checked

Click OK

Make sure "Microphone" is selected and the volume is at maximum.

If that doesn't work, then post back We'll walk through the Audacity settings.

Make sure to post what version of audacity you're using.

Hello. I just had a go at this, wanted to see if it was do-able before I bought a usb interface. The sound input from the BR is faint... because it's not made for this, I take it it's not going to get much better?
