Here's a little ditty I've been working on for the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.

It's an Instrumental piece that I've played on the acoustic but then decided to add a (well I tried) sort of mournful lead guitar. Not the best but for good cause. I'm still not real happy with the mix...this is really the first full composition I've recorded on the MBR. I did one when I first got it about a year ago, but it was just an Acoustic and me singing. I may re-record this, but tell me what you think first.

Well worth more work if you think it needs it, really nice guitar and the acoustic is just excellent great work and a worthwhile tribute.

Really great song. I think it really captures the plight of the Haitians without being over the top.

I have a good friend who's daughter and son-in-law are working in Haiti right now.  They are newlyweds who quit their jobs to go teach at a Christian school there. Ten days after they arrived the quake hit. They've chosen to stay - at least for now while they can be of help to the children. Every day is perilous. Disease and violence could overwhelm them at any moment.

All this to say, thanks for the thought behind this song.

Since you asked what we think...I think the song and arrangement are perfect. The acoustic guitar sounds great.  I would like to hear the lead guitar again a little cleaner without the wah. It's such a great melody, and I think that would help it blend a little better. Really good work overall.

Hey thanks osckilo. I'm not sure about Pro sounding because I know it needs work but thanks for the compliment dude!

Yeah I'm going to redo some parts or maybe  :-\ remove the lead all together. I kinda like just the acoustic feel. Thanks for listening side effect.

Hey Rick and thanks man! Takes some special people to do what your friends are doing.

I originally had the lead (spur of the moment) recorded w/o the wah and a slightly different tone. I think I will go back and re-evaluate. Thanks for the suggestion.

Hey Gritter, Satchwood, Vanncad, & Bluesberry thanks so much guys for the comments on this one. I had been working with just the acoustic part and didn't know how the lead would pan out.

No I don't Satch, but what I would like to do is maybe just take the lead part off and submit the acoustic, bass & drum bed track if someone would like to give it a try. I just haven't had much time or felt creative enough to come up with some good lyrics.

Hey I just noticed something...this song is up top on the new featured song thingy. Does this mean I win a door prize? Gift card to Guitar Center? or just bask in the glory that my song made it to the ^^^top  ;D
