An internet friend of mine from Australia, David Timson, had written and recorded this music. He gave it the working title, "Road Trip", and had been looking for someone to write lyrics for it for some time. I took the theme, and tried writing some lyrics. Then I recorded the vocals, and added the synth solo, and here's the lyrics and the mp3...

Road Trip

Wheels turnin', rubber burnin'
Don't know when I'll be returning
Horizon's callin', I'm not stallin'
Day is done, and night is fallin'

Grab some freedom, leave the world behind
Who knows what we'll find

I don't want to be a lifer
Clues are out there to decipher
We've got the weekend for exploring
Life just shouldn't be this boring

We'll head out on that open highway
Time to do a few things my way
We'll burn the fuse down to the powder
Voices raised a little louder

Chorus

Solo

Chorus

Woohoo! Let's hit the road, baby.
What? Whaddayamean you can't go?
But sweetie, I gotta go it alone? Oh, man...

Push the pedal to the metal
Waiting for the dust to settle
The city's in the rear view mirror
Troubles fade, the future's clearer

Two days off, a brief vacation
No demands or expectations
The tank is full, I've got some money
Sure am gonna miss you honey

Chorus
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

Very nice, back in the sixties ...
Still better the second time.

I remember this one Frank. This is on my MP3 player along with some other collabs. Great moving tune. Definitely a good driving song for a Road Trip.

Thanks, everyone. David's a really creative guy (and a good mixer). It was my first attempt at writing lyrics for existing music.

I appreciate the listen, and the kind comments!   ;D

This really does have the feel of a weekend road trip!
A great job in my humble opinion!
