Pink Floyd with Syd are not to be confused with the later Pink Floyd, though...later Floyd is a whole different direction than 'Piper at the Gates of Dawn' was.

A high school friend of mine summed it up quite well;

Pink Floyd with Syd = happy/trippy for LSD experinced listeners.
Pink Floyd post Syd = deep/dark life examining for pothead listeners.

True, Sandy - one would never mistake later Floyd with Syd's old band.

Syd made happy sounds (while he could).  :)  Roger Waters, not so happy.  :(
