What problems does it have for direct recording? If I might ask...

I have a Boss ME-70, and I don't imagine that it hooks up any differently than the GT for direct recording. Sounded much better than my Line6 POD too. 

Well, in a way sometimes the GT in my opinion sometimes sounds a bit synthetic. From what I've heard the gain sounds from the POD are quite better and are reacting better on playing-dynamics.
