Hi, I'm brand new to this site, my name is AK. I have the boss br 900 and just wondered  at what level you should set yr individual track fader wen u first record an instrument. I usualy set my input levels and sens controls as recommended by the manual and lets say for example I was recording a guitar part on track 1, I leave the fader for track 1 all the way down, then only lift it after, for playback. Its worked fine in the past, but I just wondered if I wud benefit from recording with the fader lifted to start with.

Thanx.

While recording, it doesn't matter where the fader is set on the track you're recording. It won't affect your recording because the BR's mixer section (including the fader controls) comes after the track in the signal path:

   Guitar-->Input Sens-->Insert Effects-->Rec Level-->Record Track-->Mixer-->Loop Effects-->Output

Therefore, the faders only affect the playback of previously recorded tracks; not the track you're currently recording.
