I've been out of touch for a while.

There was a request for another swing tune - here you go. "Sentimental" written by the guitarist in the band - the Red Stick (Baton Rouge) Ramblers.

I'm glad to see that uploading is possible again.

Splendid, pro, excellent!! You guys sound really tight.

Did you use the internal mic, or plug one in?

Peace,

Mark

Well, for one, it's just me, not a band. The Red Stick Ramblers are a Cajun swing band down in Louisiana. I'm not in their band.

I just played the parts and sang it into the built-in mic.

The 'bass' is an archtop guitar with a tweaked effects patch that makes it sound like a stand up bass.

Thanks!

OsCKilO

More Kudos to you then bro!!!!

Makes it even more Amazing!!

Love it!

That's what I thought - Thanks. Another great example of how awesome the internal mic sounds, especially when in the hands of a pro!

Sweeeet!  I need to learn how to play swing rhythm!

I don't understand how the internal mic can be so clear and noiseless.  What mic effect do you use (if any)?  And what recording environment?  A very quiet (acoustic and electrically) room?  If I just turn on the mic and am completely quiet I have a constant high pitched hiss.  Perhaps my problem is that I sing quietly and rely on high gain to amplify, which amplifies noise along with signal.  I think I need my signal (singing and strumming) to be louder?

I just recorded it dry. I can't remember which mastering effect I used, but possibly it had something to do with cleaning up the sound.

Just sitting in my living room on the couch - maybe you can slightly hear the cushion springs squeaking?

Maybe. I've been playing a long time and I'm pretty confident when I go to play a part. I usually have to knock the sensitivity setting down to not overload the input level.
