Yup, you got it - just listened to your "This is cool", wihch was cool except for being too centred. You got it now - the use of panning makes the sound much more open and lets your playing shine through more. Keep working on this one - it;s a nice track.

I think the guitars in this are excellent
but for me (being Guitar nuts) I'd have brought that excellent lead up a bit
Please go on and finish this cos I love it!
