The  song tells a story of a Truck Driver dealing with an habitually cheating wife. He goes through 3 stages in the story. First comes the pain_ Second comes the anger_ last but not least he follows his heart.

The music is really simple which actually represents my playing ability. But I tried to arrange the music as not to detract from the story but to gently support it and help it along. The song is from my demo "mama's Boy" for which I'm still writing songs. I'm always looking to make my songs better.

Now I wonder if you guys help me out with a problem. For those of you that have visited my myspace page and heard some of my music, how would you categorize it? What genre? I personally don't care because I don't write songs to fit genres. But it's become apparent to me that some people do want to have some idea of what it is before they listen to it.
As I was creating the songs I was too immersed in the process to be bothered with such trivial matters. But now when having  serious discussion about my music and I can't describe it, I'm beginning to feel that people might think that I'm being coy or pretentious. And that's  not it at all.
I write what I like and I like a lot of things.
So, HELP

Here's the song "Where I Belong"

oh yea, great song! superb voice and if you gotta categorize, do what I do, play safe and go for 'Alternative', just because it covers so many bases and it won't freak anybody out if you throw in a ThrashCountryTechno number.

I love that. Was thinking you could file it under the "kick ass tune" genre, but I don't think that exists either!!

Excellent music, Nelson!

Peace,

I don;t know about the genre, but it's a great song, you've got a great playing style and some really nice lyrics.
Well done, keep it up!

Already a big fan of yours Nelson, and this song is just sublime, you have a wonderful sense of melody and your vocal is very strong and distinctive.
