Power Supply for MicroBR

Anyone out there using a NONE PSA power supply? As in not the 'official' Boss version. If so, what voltage and what polarity? I've got a unit that I can change the voltage and polarity, but the Boss manual gives no clues as to the polarity used. I don't wanna blow up my baby. Maybe 64 is the guy to help me here....?

what would the "Boss" power supply set you back?

my guess is a lot less than a new MBR if an "Un" official power supply poops on you day.

Believe it or not, I'm having trouble actually finding a Boss PSA!

USe the Boss one. The MBR is so sensitive to input voltage fluctuations, and there have been units destroyed by PSU's tried by members on here. The connector is an unusual size too, falling between two of the 'standard' sizes.

Some Sound Control shops have been taken over by PMT (yes I know) and the local one to me is still doing Boss and Roland gear.

£20 - saves much heartache. I use mine nearly all of the time.

Many users have fried their Micro BR by using the wrong power adapter. So you're taking a risk by not using the Boss PSA adapter, but it is possible if you make certain that your adapter has the right specifications. The details are on my FAQ page.

Thanks for the links, 64! And Truro is only about a 45 mins drive East from here, its also the nearest place with a good old fashioned 'record shop' (remember those?) so I go up once in a while to satisfy my CD shelves.
