Hey this is a great first post!!.   Like your sound and great vocals.

tonyblue

thanks Willy,
as i'm learning how to record, I would welcome any constructive critisism, but I'm OK with just that you like it.

tonyblue,

Nice performance.  The guitar playing is very tight.  The guitars are panned very wide - I'd probably have brought them towards the center just a bit, but that's a matter of taste.

The vocals are well sung, but I think I am detecting just a bit of digital distortion (possibly recorded too hot) but they need to be brought out in the mix a bit more.  I am big fan of a slight reverb on vocals.

All in all a pretty well done cover.

I'm agreeing with the previous post , theres a little distortion and one maybe two pops , are you using a pop shield , and the vox is a little lost , but saying that good first post Tone , you will soon learn off this lot .

Keep em coming

Thank you for your coments,
dwardzala.
No I don't have a pop shield, by vox, do you mean voice ?, if so I am not yet at peace with recording my voice, when I play live it is much easier to sing out loud, but at home I feel nervous so I think that I'm trying to hide my voice.
I worked in a recording studio for around three years as a guitarist, but never when behind the glass to see the mixing, now I wish I had taken more of a interest in it.

Facemask93.
I recorded the song with a lot of distortion, and cleaned it up in the mix, maybe I should have gone further.

Thank you both for you interest

Hey - this is great tune Tony. You've got a cool voice. I think this is a great first post.

One suggestion - use the bass simulator to throw a bass line on here. If you just play single notes, you might be able to get a half-way decent sounding bass part.

Other than that, I think this is a really cool song.
It ain't pretty being easy.

First I agree this is a terrific first post.
I also agree about the extreme panning. It does help keep the instruments separated which is a good thing, but if I imagine a stage, the two guitars are so far apart they would look odd. Bringing them in might mean they blend a bit too much as they sound like they had the same FX during record. You can EQ them differently or add FX to one.

You have a good voice and good expression too. I agree the distortion stands out in the odd spot. Unfortunately there is no fix for distortion.
Simply record those spots over (with an A-B punch-in) if you can get the original levels otherwise it's a vocal re-take situation. If the "OVER" light flashes, turn either the input or the sensitivity down or back away and try again.
Digital is not as noisy as tape so lower input levels are not so much of a problem. You just jack them up in the mix
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
