A-B repeat with built-in rythm problem/question

Started by wilkoryte, July 07, 2008, 02:09:35 PM

hello

I have a new micro br

when I loop measure 1 with the the A-B repeat fonction with a rythm pattern playing(4/4 metronome for example), all the beats are played

when I loop measure 2, the first beat (ding) is missing

if I bounce the rythm pattern to audio, I can loop any measure and the first beat is always played !!!

could you confirm this behavior please ?

hello again :)

please, could someone do this simple loop test ?

I really would like to know if my micro br is ok or not

I just tried this on mine. I setup the rhythm to use 4/4 metro
(PT: 314). I set my 'a' loop point at measure 1-1 and my 'b' loop point at measure 3-1 (yeah it seems weird but if you set at 2-4 you miss a beat). Then when the "Select A<>B Func" screen showed, I  chose "Rep" (hit track 1 button).  I hit play and measures 1 - 2 loop with the accent on the first beat of each measure. Hope this is clear. I'm not the greatest at explaining things.  :-[

hello

thank you very much for your test 8)

your micro br seems to work like mine

if you set your A point to measure 1 everything is fine
if you set your A point to another measure the first beat won't play !?

it seems like a bug ?!

Actually I hear the first beat of both measures as long as I set the "A" loop point at the very beginning of a measure. Since the rhythm section in the Micro BR is linked to the measures in the song, the metronome pattern will only play the accent note on the first beat in a measure. So if the starting point of your loop doesn't include the first beat of the measure, you won't hear the accent note. I don't feel this is a bug, its just the way the Micro BR keeps itself in sync with the song.

Welcome to the forum by the way, I just read your introduction!

sorry to insist :)

if you set A point at 002-1-00 and the B point at 003-1-00 and set to "REP"
do you hear the four beats (ding tac tac tac) ?

Ah now I see your problem. I get the same issue. It does appear to be a bug! I had to set the 'A' Loop point at 1-4-95 and the 'B' Loop point at 3-1 to hear the first ding!

I'll have to try with different metronomes and see if the same problem occurs.

I have checked this with several different drum patterns and metronomes and I get the same result. The work around isn't too bad though. Here it is:

1. Goto measure you want to start looping ( 002 - 1 - 00 )
2. hit -> button until the the cursor is under very last 0 in the display (after the decimal point )
3. hit the - (minus) key once. The measure display should read: 001-4-95
4. Hit the A<>B button
5. Hit Cursor <- key to move to the measure value of the display
6. Hit + to select the end measure ( 003 - 1 - 00 )
7. Hit A<>B again

You should hear the full metronome now (Ding, tic, tic, tic)

Hope this helps...

No problem at all. I may report this to Boss just for grins. See what they say about the issue.
