I may not be a fan of heavy metal, but I sure and a fan of a well constructed song, and this is very well constructed.   That middle part around 2:00 minutes in just grabs me and wont let go.  Very cool stuff.   I am impressed by this big time.  Your voice sounds very good here, of course you are going to get the Metallica comparisons from me for sure.  Very strong songwriting going on here.  Great job.

Killer songwriting skills and your vocals have come a long way. Excellent musicianship as usual, but you have managed to put it all together in a pro sounding tune - Everything is mixed very well.

If you could enlighten us on how the drums/percussion were put together that would be great.

This is intense - I love it.

Peace,

Mark

Wow!

I haven't been a big fan of heavy metal since the early 80s, but I sneak a listen every now and then.

Loved this Dmann - nice tight song structure, good melodies and some really tasty guitar work.

You've really only been at the home recording for a year or so? It takes quite a bit to make this sort of music sound authentic when you're doing it all yourself - nice one :)

This is excellent - really good production values here for a metal song. Nice thrashy sounding guitars but a really good bottom end to the riffing. Goood mix indeed. The song is great, superb guitar playing and some nice changes with good drum fills.

Cheers,

Nigel

It's all the microbr with a lot of tweaking of frequencies using multiband compression instead of EQ and a short plate type reverb to add some atmosphere. The hardest part for me was making it work with the bass. I had thought about redoing the drums with Fruity Loops and EZ Drummer but to be honest I am actually happy with the MicroBR as everything fits the song nicely(or as good as it can get using a drum machine).
The guitars and bass were done through my ADA MP2 preamp, and I used my G-Major for the reverbs and delays for the solo sections, ran straight into the microbr dry, all stereo tracks as its a true stereo preamp. The vocals are all the onboard mic on the microbr using vocalfx1 patch, in which it's only a single mono track. I used Fruity Loops for the final mix because I needed panning automation due to there only being 2 guitar tracks, and with that having 4 stereo tracks and a mono track total was just easier than trying to mix them seperately through bouncing on the microbr.

Thank you all for taking the time to listen and respond.

Dmann.

OK you lost me in your explanation of how you did this!!,  But either way it sounds very professional.  And your vox is excellent.

That's some kick ass metal, and a pretty complexed arrangement, good job.
You really let rip with the solo's too, impressive guitar skills.
There's still a few metal fans here keen to more :)

You've even got the James Hetfield vocal waver he does at the end of his phrasing not to mention the Kirk shredding.  A fun listen.

As great as your mix sounds, I find the guitar panning distracting in a couple spots.

Kick ass (and I don't say that too often).
