The Pogues and Kristy MacColl covered by Gritter and Wiley.

I really wanted to spend more time on this one but with shopping, wrapping, visitors and work it was tough to find the time. I finally did a vocal for it last night (after a few beers) and sent it to Wiley about 1 hour ago...She added her magic, thank goodness cause my female take on it made it a bit of a farce.

The more I listen to this song by the Pogues and Kristy MacColl the more I love it...I say it ranks up there with Imagine, What a Wonderful World, My Way and Louie Louie  ;) as classics that will never ever go away, and if there is a human race in 100 years from now people will still be listening to Shane and Kristy's magical song of truth, despair, nostalgia and hope.

I just had to get this in for Yulefest.

Thanks so much to Wiley for getting it done so quickly and so wonderfully.

I hope you will enjoy it.

Thanks for listening and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Peace, love, justice and spirits to all.

Sandy.

Yes it was short notice. But it was still fun.  Taxed my brain for the day! :)

I agree with all your sentiments about 'Fairytale of New York', Sandy - great song, and one that will last. Love Kirsty MacColl and the Pogues.

You and PJ did a great job on this - you both sound shit-faced to me! (that's intended as a compliment)

This is smooth and intense at the same time - I'm embarrassed not to know any Pogues songs, but I love this.

Really cool!!

Peace,

Mark

LOL Anytime you want ORH,  come up with a duo maybe we can do one together sometime.  You are very good at coming up with lyrics I am not!!  Thanks!
