I dug up one of my old instrumentals and added in some keyboard bass, strings, and a tad of piano at the end.  I'm still not done with it.  So any helpful criticism is very welcome...

Thank you for the comments PJ and TJ !!!  Much appreciated...

i was actually heading that direction Tony (with a little piano), but kinda of turkey'd out and kept the piano really short; but i think that's a good idea and will work on a version 3 - thank you!

Melodic perfection here Tommy, everything fits just right. A wonderfully constructed composition and, as usual, fantastic playing!

You always put great energy and emotion into your compositions - Always a treat!

I think this mixes well across the board.

My only "criticism" would be that it is too short. I did want more...  :D

Peace, bro!

Beautiful, Tommy, great mood piece. Excellent guitar sounds and playing and agree with TJ, bring the piano in sooner and let's hear a bit more of it - feels like it is just going to get going with a new part to the song and it stops.

One thing to watch if you are still working on it - I think the combination of strings and keyboard bass gets a bit overpowering towards the end and is peaking a bit (about 2:14 to the piano). If you could dial back a bit of the bottom end that might help.

Cheers,

Nigel

Lots of great stuff going on here. Epic runs. emotion, power chords. I liked the trading guitars, harmonics and other contrasts. Good dynamics.
Comments? very little. Maybe pan the trading guitars 10% left and right to create an on-stage impression?

Very good Satch! The guitar work is amazing, and it's a very cool melody.

Quotefaded out to just piano would be the icing on the cake

- I agree with this statement as well.
It ain't pretty being easy.
