Some really great ideas here friends - big thanks!!!

I actually re-mastered this with the Mids turned down to about -3 and that fixed the clipping problem (good hear Nigel!)...

Will post again after I've added in some more piano & extend it a bit....(need to practice a bit more first :) - good idea TJ!  I might also check out some panning ideas (thanks Glen!)...

Quote from: Ferryman on December 21, 2009, 03:56:03 PMOne thing to watch if you are still working on it - I think the combination of strings and keyboard bass gets a bit overpowering towards the end and is peaking a bit (about 2:14 to the piano). If you could dial back a bit of the bottom end that might help.

It's that digital peaking thing - It always happens to me. You can hear it on one set of speakers, but not another. I have bought commercial albums that do it.

I have suspected that it is due to 24 bit recording. We are all taught to crowd 0db as much as possible (From the tape days), but that technique always seems to get me into trouble - Especially if there are no bass cuts. I'm learning, but am still very timid when it comes to input levels. Anybody got some ideas about this?

Oh, yeah, and you rock Tommy!

Peace,

Mark

Intense track.  I like the harmonics at the beginning and the swirling backing guitar.  I also liked the piano part - would have liked to have heard more of that.

There are times I feel like packing up and then I hear something like this and I get all eager again.

Lovely work.  Puts the smile back where it should be.
