What keyboard should I get?

Season's greetings to everyone! I hope everyone is well! Christmas is looking good here in Vienna if my 5 year old son doesn't go off like a bottle rocket waiting for his loot.
Here's the deal. I want to properly compose my music onto pc/paper. I can keypunch everything in on my laptop, but it takes forever. I want to use a keyboard to hammer out the songs real time onto staff. So, from the research I've done, I figure I need a MIDI controller to use with my laptop. My budget is 150euro.
I think my software side is settled for now.
HP pavilion specs say sound card will handle device
I also have an external extigy sound card with midi in/out

Thanks in advance for the help

Thom,

Have a look at the Behringer range of controllers.  They are in that price range and should do what you need.

Thanks Tony. I'll check them out more closely.

Any midi conroller keys will work for what your wanting to do. I have an older M-audio midiman 49 that I picked up on craigslist for $40 US and have used it in Sonar& Reason. Sonar will write the staff and tab from the midi notes. I use a midi to usb connector straight into the PC and choose what soundcard to go through.

Hey Tony and Mach. I looked at a few and settled for the Behringer UMA25S. It'll do what I need and some. I better get busy so I can put it under the tree.

At 1500 euros (current euro price) you have just recommended something that is ten times his budget.
