Hello,

Here is some of my "work".  I just goof around at home but any critique is valuable so I can learn how I can improve.

I like that Hats off to Jimmy Page riff. Sounds like it has a lot of potential for a full song.

Thanks.  I wish I knew then what I know now about recording.  I like that one, too.  Both parts.  I regret having the levels up so high, though.  I just posted a new one.  I really like this one...Nova Demo SPKR Sim.  You gotta play it loud to get the full effect.

Thanks,

William

Hey thanks.  I'm starting to go through everyone's stuff here.  This place has some talent.

I like your style a lot!!!!!!!! Real professional recordings, very creative and imaginative.  Super fine.  What are you recording these on, and what instruments are you using, if you don't mind my asking.  I really like your music.

Thanks.

When you listen on Soundclick, you can get all of the available information for the track by selecting "full".

Instruments:
1977 Les Paul  I customized the crap out of this guitar but the pickups are Skatterbrane Earthbranes.

1994 PRS CE22  This axe has SD Alnico Pro II neck and Custom 5 bridge pups in it (actually, they are out of the guitar at the moment and awaiting Tom Holmes pups in about four months).

I traded my 2002 Martin acoustic to get the PRS.  The Martin Demo is that acoustic.

1988 American Fender Strat.   I think there are some recordings using that guitar.  I customized that one with Lace Sensor Holy Grail 1000s in it.  I traded that one away for a 1995 Gibson SG which I immediately traded for two tube amp heads.  One custom 5 watt Vox clone and one custom 35 watt head which I traded to the guy who I previously traded a 2 watt tube head I built.  I wanted it back.

Amps:
The 2 watt head is the Gilmore Jr Demo.  I brightened it up with a 500k pot and lower value cap. 12AU7, ECC99 tubes

Custom 20 watt head (Supro clone) loaded with 12AX7, GX34 and 6V6GT tubes (antique Delco, antique Svetlana, or modern JJs).  The Obscene amp demo is this head.

Custom 5 watt head (Vox clone) 6267, 6V6 tubes.  No demos of this one yet.

Custom Cab 1X12 Celestion Alnico Gold and a vintage Bell and Howell 1X12 Jensen

Recording:
Alesis i/o26 audio interface with firewire, 27inch iMac with 2GB ram 750 GB HD, TC Electronics Nova System

Programs:
Reason 3 and 4, Guitar Rig 2 and 3, Amplitube Live, GarageBand

Mics:
Marshall 9000 condenser, Audix (SM58 clone)

I also have a Lewis Black didgeridoo (which I have yet to learn how to play), Abbo clap sticks, Casio Privia 88 weighted keys midi keyboard, Peavey Foundation Bass

I think that's it.

Nice collection of gear.  And I thought I was a collector, I may need to go out and get more stuff now  :D.  You are really using that gear to a full potential.

Sounds pretty good to me, the recordings are very well done and sound strong with good balance and clear instruments. Eclectic mix of styles, have to say I prefer the rockier stuff (as I am an old git). Some nice guitar ideas in there, I liked the Nova Demo one in particular.

Cheers,

Nigel
