Recording on V tracks

Can anyone help?

I recorded a drum track using an external stero mic on 'V' 1 thus 'V' tracks 2 -8 have no data.

I then wanted to record a guitar onto one of the other V tracks and repeat the process for the bass and vocals.

I could not find a way to play back the drum recording while simultaneously recording the guitar/bass/vocals, is there a way this can be done?

My understanding is that only 1 v-track per main track can be playing or recording at any one time. In other words the MBR can't play Track 1 V-1 while recording to Track 1 V-2.

To record your guitar while listening to your drums, you will have to record to one of the other main tracks (2, 3 or 4). To record your guitar on Track 2 for example: Rewind, hit the record button, hit the Track 2 button (arming track 2 V-1 for record) and then hit play. You should hear your drum track playing while you are recording to track 2. Repeat the process for your bass and vocals using tracks 3 and 4 respectively.
