Here's another pirate song ....

did some googling on pirate lingo and came up with this little "chanty"

Black Spot

Arrrrr! I met a rum fellow
before I set sail
the Bilge-sucking blaggard
looked fearsome and pale

I felt like showing him
the Cat o'nine tails
but the Cap'n
appeared with
a Hogshead of ale

ahoy durti lubbers
you'll kiss the gunner's daughter
I'll give you but pain
aaaar you filthy scrubbers
Davy Jones' locker
  will be your bane

"All hands hoay!"
the cap'n did yell
and the freebooters gathered
of grog they did smell

"north we will go
at the break of the day
the ghost of Rusila
will show me the way"

ahoy durti lubbers
.....

Upon the salty waters
get on yer Jack-tar
and get on yer knees
if you take a Caulk aft the mizzen
I'll keelhaul yer ass
on all seven seas

ahoy durti lubbers
.....

If you keep warm the monkey
and stand in the storm
when the Kraken appears
you worthless piece of shark bait
I'll fill up yer duffle
with all gold you can bear

ahoy durti lubbers
.....

When all that's left is the bone-soup
and a couple of hard tacks
you know what I'll do
I'll scale Jacob's ladder
to a Galleon with grub
and women to all

ahoy durti lubbers
.....

Well, Shiver me timbers!
I'll give the cap'n a black spot
he'll dance the hempen jig
the compass keep spinning
our next prey awaits us
let's find Saucy wench

ahoy durti lubbers
you'll kiss the gunner's daughter
I'll give you but pain
aaaar you filthy scrubbers
Davy Jones' locker
  will be your bane

oh Geir, this is brilliant. the idea to go acapella is inspired. you have truly gotten into the whole spirit of the thing, this is marvellous stuff! excellent lyrics, superb chorus and your accent makes it wonderfully 'nordic'. my timbers have been well shivered, man. this is way better than my effort because of the chorus. on my third listen now, jiggin' about the room, laughing, grinning, wanting to go to that river you live by.... i'm rambling now, somebody should shut me up.

Hysterical, brilliant and totally mad! Love it and shows what a great voice you have, and also what great creativity. Totally fab.

Magnificent! The lyrics are incredibly literate... quite superb in their own right. But the singing is priceless. You make a great (and talented!) pirate.

This is great Geir!!!  The lyrics, the singing & very cool backing vox as well, just makes this a fantastic fun listen!!!

This could easily be a pirate sing-along scene from a new Pirates of the Caribbean flick - Excellent writing too!!!  Video opp?
