Tim I couldn't get the song to play. Had to go to your soundclick page and find it. Great song glad I chased it down. The mandolin rules.

Ahhhhhhh yes, mandolin, this is beautiful.  This is why I love mandolin.  Damn you Tim, ignighting my GAS like this.  Maybe a little trip over to the music shop this week, just a little look, is it hard to play, it sounds really good.  Great songwriting here, is has a slightly different vibe than your guitar based songs.  This is going to open up a new rich vein for you.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Sounds great, love the mandolin rythym. Have only ever had a go at the mandolin once, and found it very tricky, so this is a sterling effort for your first composition on this instrument.

Bring on more Greeny mandolin songs!

More creativity and talent! This is excellent for a first go at the mandolin and as always beautifully recorded. The depth of feeling comes through well here and I do look forward to hearing more of this. You continue to impress!!

Cheers,

This is just a cheapo (£70 'ish) Stagg electro acoustic mandolin I bought on a whim 3 years ago. It's been collecting dust for most of that time (I've added a touch of it to songs here and there, but nothing like this), so I just fancied doing something substantial with it. It's a tricky playing experience but a lovely sound. Mine is a bugger to keep in tune, but maybe they all are... ?!

Go for it. You know you want to!!!

you got it in one, Greeny my boy. Mandolins (and the ukulele) are by their nature almost un-tunable, but that is their characteristic sound. Don't worry too much about it or you'll end up doing a Brian Wilson  ;D
