Recording a live band with the built in mics on the br600?

I took my br600 to a gig to make a live recording of my band, but did not like the results. I'm sure it was my choice of patches because it was very heavy in the bass.

What's the best setting to use when making a simple recording?  By simple, I mean just setting up the unit in front of the band and using the built in mics.  Any other tips, such as the best place to set it up?  For sake of this discussion, let's say it's an outdoor gig where all the instruments are mic'ed and feeding through the main speakers.

Come on, you know you want to go there...

I use mine for live recording a good bit and before recording I go into the effects section and turn off the compression and EQ (and other effects), unless I forget, in which case I get recordings that sound bass-heavy, like what you are describing. The default effects setting (when in mic mode) sounds pretty good on solo voice but not on anything else, IMO.

As far as where to set up, I'd say as close as you can get to the sound source and still hear a good balance. Far away from walls if possible, or if it isn't possible, then right up against a wall is usually better than a few feet away.
