Hi,

I hope you like this new song.

It was inspired by nature.

You need to imagine a large-ish 46 year old riding his bicycle to work along a heavily vegetated cycle path next to a river in springtime.  If you know Melbourne, then yes, it is the Yarra river.

I still have a few things to iron out in my recording technique such as erasing the noise before the track starts and also arranging the drums.  But I'm having fun.

My next song will either be another "kids" song, or one about a night out I had with the missus a few months ago.

This has a lot of good stuff going on. The verses are quite raw and 'Johnny Cash', but the chorus sweetens everything up nicely. Some extra drum variations would be a good addition, but all the right ingredients are already here. Nice songwriting and performance!

I can definetly see you having fun putting this song together!  Great posting!  May need to do some editing, but overall a fun song to listen to!

Fine songwriting and performance here, this is really nice and melodic.

Your recording technique will only improve with time, and I am sure you will get the hang of the drum arranging, as this seems a bit daunting at first but once you get your head around it, it will almost become second nature!

Look forward to more songs from you.

Thanks for the feedback.

Its rewarding getting advice and responses from you guys.  Especially when the comments reflect the response that I was trying to get with the lyrics of this song.  My playing and my singing are probably not my best assets so the "story" in the song is what I relied on for this effort.

cheers,

Ian
