Going Crazy

Hey everybody! I've spent hours trying to send my first blues lesson to 48. Turns out audacity needs another file or something to convert WAV to MP3. I got it...still doesn't work. 48 sent me a converter...works...but my dial up is too slow and it timed out on me. Made file smaller by cutting some of the music...can't get it saved let alone converted to MP3. I'm all hyped up on aggravation. What do I do now? tazzy

TZY - GET BROADBAND!! Your frustration will continue until you move into the real world. I appreciate that there are difficulties sometimes, but until you aqcuire a decent connection (sometimes that's a misnomer in itself), you are merely playing with the problem. Good luck with the rest, but the Broadband is the crux of this problem.

Thanks...I tried this yesterday...but will run through it one more time. I did finally get the lesson sent last night. Haven't heard from 48 yet to know if he got it okay or not. Will let you all know how it turned out.  tazzy

Still getting the same message...could not open MP3 encoding library. Does the version of audacity make a difference?

The file said it was MP3 at 128
showed 1'41secs with 1.54mb data
But no sound

Anybody any ideas

  Hey Tazzy, I just thought of a solution!! At least on how to get your file to be an mp3!!!   Get a MICRO BR!!!!!

You may be able to link the file via a service like Box.net to 48, where you upload your file to the service, and 48 could then download it.

If I remember correctly, and I probably don't as it's been a couple of years, but if you try it and don't have it the first time it won't ask the question again.

So you have to manually get it to recognize the LAME extension thangy. I think these instructions may help. Possibly
