I could only wish I was as genious as them in writing. Hurt has some close meaning to me. Trent wrote it, JC and Sevendust famous for covering it... I think I seen it on here once too, thought I would try it. I really enjoyed playing it... I can't sing to save my life lol maybe I am saving my life by not singing:) When I started to lay the lead vocal part via the guitar I really had a hard time as it was continuously turning into a jam session...like something would come over me.

Haven't been able to tweak the parameters just yet on the MBR so I hope it's not clipping too bad...may remix it.

Guitar #1: Me playing Epi Special II
Guitar #2: Again Epi SpII using "#6 Bigsrtum" on MBR
Bass: Me playing Squier P_Bass through MBR BassCrucnch reverb = 50

I really liked this rendition-First, i can believe how good that Epi sounds-(what big sound)your playing is soulful-works great for that tune-
Why not make a jam song out of it
I'd bring in some drums into it like around where the 2nd verse would be-
I would'nt mind tearing into a few bars of this myself
It's a winner-kudos

Thanks Ron...I found and old copy of sonar 4 and was suprised it worked! LOL But I couldn't remember how to use it let alone try to mesh MBR and sonar together.  ??? I wanted to do some floor tom type work in the chourus. I couldn't find anything on the MBR I really liked. But thanks again for listening. ;D

This is really cool, very well worked out I have a version I did a while back up on this forum somewhere, the thread I think is called "JC Tribute"
Though I didn't put quite as much work into as it sounds like you did here.

galestermusic

Thanks scorpios. I played tracks 1 and 2 seperate with the epi II on piezo setting with 70 reverb. Put down a bass line and then tried to sing. LMAO that didn't work out so I just played the vocals. Was a challenge because as I got into it, I started coming off the vocal line and just starting jamming LOL. It was only my second work on the MBR. I knew someon had done it on here before, but I heard sevendust do an acoustic version and I thought what the hell. :D

Even though I play drums and keyboards, I do recognize good guitar
when I hear it. I just listened to some really sweet guitar!

I think this would be found interesting:

It's Trent Reznor talking about Johnny Cash covering Hurt.

The song deals with addiction, and I've had problems with alcohol in my life, I ended 10 years of sobriety back in feb. Over some problems.

Trent Reznor speaks how Cash made it his song..from his life perspective. And you have made it your song, pretty cool.

You guys should do a scratch build on this. Good stuff.
