Hi everybody I am now the proud owner of a Boss br600 and it's driving me crazy. Can anyone tell me how to erase a track so I can re-record on the same track?? Can't seem to figure it out.
If smoking's so bad why does it cure kippers?

You can simply record over top of it. The original track data will be replaced by the new recording.

Or, if you prefer to erase the track first, you can do so through the Utility menu. Just follow the procedure on page 84 of the BR-600 manual titled "Erasing a complete track (ALL)".

Sometimes it's better to record an alternate take of a track than to erase it. That way, you can compare both takes and potentially copy the best bits of each take to create a third take. To record an alternate take, simply change the v-track (see pages 12 and 56 of the BR-600 manual). For more on v-tracks, see the following web page:

Thanks for the replies.

64guitars,
been trying what you said and hey presto success.  but I noticed that when recording over it  It only erases the part you actually record over leaving parts of the original track intact, I know this would'nt happen on the same song. so I assume then that when you've finished a complete project and dumped it to PC you would have to erase ALL tracks via the utility button for a clean slate.

When you've finished a song, you can simply create a New Song (see page 35). There's no need to erase the first song unless you've run out of room on the memory card. You can store up to 99 songs on a single memory card if space allows. By keeping all of your songs, you can go back to previous songs and listen to them or make changes (page 32 - Song Select).

If you really want to erase a song, you can use the Song Erase function in the Utility menu (page 86).

Hello Plankspanker.  Welcome from Brisbane (but originally from Wigan and still burning a candle for the Wanderers but the last time that I saw them was the last game at Burnden Park in 1997).  I hope you enjoy your BR.

I'm tending to forget that theres nothing actually on the machine It's the machine that's reading & writing to & from the card, so the only time you need to delete anything is to recover space on the card. correct??

Hi Tony

Jeez Burnden Park Ehh, I have a video of that game somewhere I keep saying I'll get it transfered to dvd, but it does'nt seem like 12 years ago that. Anyway If you ever come over here bring that candle your burning and set fire to the Reebok Stadium for us they lost again to-day 2-0 to Blackburn. so were sat in the drop zone, were all doomed.
I heard to-day that Sam Allerdyce was ill, He's still well liked and respected by the Bolton fans I'm sure everyone of them wishes him well.

What with all that and trying to get my head round a BR 600 I'm off to the pub to drown my sorrows, they might find me floating face down in the canal to-morrow morning.

Catch you again...Steve
