Question,,,
After recording on tracks 1-2-3-4 i've bounced them to trk V2 3/4 and listened to playback which is ok.. I return to the start of the song, and the booklet tells me if i'm satisfied with levels etc.. then to hit "REC" once again and it will be saved...yet,when i hit rec, there is no audio playback..???
The virtual tracks are set to V1 V1 V2 V2

How do i NOT lose all my work? ???
Thank you!
Geo
PS:After this bounce,,are all tracks 1-4 open again?

You have to remember to turn those V tracks volume upto 100.

I have a bad habit of Mastering and fading out, only to freak out upon playback, "Wheres my track?!?!" Only to realize Id forgotten to raise the master volume back.(I know this is different, but it is similar, IMO)

If you have recorded in bounce mode and stopped the machine, it saves it so there is no reason to hit record again.
If you can playback on the tracks that you bounced to, it's there.. unless you record over it or hit undo.

By "booklet", do you mean the Micro BR Owner's Manual? If so, please tell us the page number you're referring to. I suspect that you've misinterpreted what it says.

If you've recorded on T1v1, T2v1, T3v1, and T4v1 (as you most likely have), then the v-tracks should be set to V2 V2 V2 V2 after the bounce to T34v2. If they are set to V1 V1 V2 V2 as you said, then you will lose what you recorded on tracks 1 and 2 if you record to those tracks because they are still set to v-track 1 which contains your original tracks. So set them to v-track 2 (which should be empty) before you record anything.

That depends on the v-track settings. If they are set to V2 V2 V2 V2 after the bounce, then tracks 1 and 2 should be empty and tracks 3 and 4 will have your first mix. This allows you to record on tracks 1 and 2 while monitoring the mix from tracks 3 and 4. When you're done, you can bounce V2 V2 V2 V2 to T34v3. Then make sure that the v-tracks are set to V3 V3 V3 V3 and record something else on tracks 1 and 2 while monitoring the new mix on tracks 3 and 4. And so on.

64G, I've done quite a bit of bouncing on the Micro BR, but you know - I've been going at this a bit bass-ackwards.  :) It's funny how we sometimes add a little idiosyncrasy in our workflows. It's much easier to just work your way up the v-tracks as you bounce (as you explained) than to exchange tracks as I've been doing to get my working tracks to be v-1 again.

Thanks for the overview/reminder!
