City After You - Sandy Gritt

Gritter

A love song...to my wife.

It started as a simple little guitar ballad and once I added the Moog bass and funky drum programming it took on a life of it's own. So much so that when I took out the scratch guitar to redo as electric, I decided it didn't need guitar at all. You know...less is more right? I guess I was influence by the recent posting by Smalltin of Fruits...That dude sure knows how to lay it down!

I may post the original live take of voice and acoustic...the one with which I serenade Mrs. Gritt.

Thanks for listening.

Sandy.

This is excellent.  I love your moog bass line, vocals are just perfect.  This is so grooving.  Great choice to leave the guitar off, it has the spook this way.  This is like a song that goes deep into your brain and doesn't let go.  Funny about that, I am in the middle of writing a love song for my wife right now too, must be the time of year, winter coming up and all that nesting stuff.

It seems your guitar solo there in the middle is heavily influenced by that SToF dude   :D, cool in the extreme.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places
