What are the main differences between these 2 units? (Outside of the hard drive and a couple of tracks.) Update: I found a post that answers my question......

RTY5 - First of all, welcome to the Forum. This is in part a reply to your other question about the vocal-correction tool on the BR1200.

Firstly, these machines will do as much as you want them to. Just listen to some of the recorded performances on the Micro-BR thread to realise that you don't need either a 900 or 1200. But then, listen to some of the recorded performances on the 900 & 1200 thread to realise just what potential there is in the larger machines. I can speak of the 1200 thread because there are so few contributors on there. Take a listen to Pinedog and Bluesberry's offerings on that thread, there really are some superb songs put together with the 1200. The vocal correction tool isn't any great shakes, though it isn't just a gimmick either; but it WON'T make you sound like Pavarotti etc. However it can help with confidence-building, and also it can help with harmonies. I recorded Santa's Clauses in the collab section on the BR1200, so if you listen, you'll get some idea of what I'm on about. In the end, it's down to you, but whichever m/c you decide on, you'll get a lot of pleasure from them.

Well, I went for it and ordered a br-900 this morning. What it came down to was the portability combined with the onboard cd burner. I really did alot of research on these units to where it all but consumed the last 2 weeks of my life. If I decide later to upgrade I will still hang on to the 900 for portability. I should have it next week sometime. ;D

RTY - Yep, I've just wished you luck in another thread, but hey, good luck with the BR900, it really is a wonderful machine.  :)

RTY - Oh, yes, there's nothing like that feeling of Writing, Recording, Mixing, and Mastering your song, and then watching it pop out on a CD which will play in virtually any player. However, putting your 2 minute gem onto a CD can become very expensive; as you will no doubt find out. A better bet it to wait until you've created enough songs to fill a CD and then burn the whole lot to disc. In the mean time, the way to proceed is to purchase a decent USB lead and transfer your completed tracks to your Computer. In that way you can covert them to MP3, and fiddle about with them further in Audacity etc (or not as the case may be). You'll no doubt find your own way of working soon enough.
