How do you stop the popping effect using the built in mic?  I find I have to get fairly close to the mic to record a decent vocal.

"No it doesn't really (as long as you bounce and record to empty V-tracks);"
Yes it's a good point to keep your original tracks as standard process.
I meant that the bounce itself, and all those subsequently, with all the pan and FX settings and drums etc is useless if you include a bad track in it.
IOW do not build on bad foundations.

Hi Ian - I can't auto-quote with my cell phone so I hope this makes sense. You can either flip through the MIC presets to find better gain settings, or press the input button and increase the sensitivity. You can also adjust the PRE settings on theparticular effect you are using. I have the same problem as you - With essing as well. Keeping at least 12 inches away from the mic usually solves the problem. I won't lie, it does take a little messing with, but can be done :)

Peace,

Mark
