Stereo Recording

Fairly new to this recording malarky so please bear with me.

I plug in my stereo mic and record on tracks 1 and 2 V1.

The playback controls for volume reverb etc are now tied together as expected for stereo, ie it says for tracks 1 and 2 V1=V1.

Then select track 1 V2 and want to do a mono recording for guitar for example, but the controls on playback for volume, reverb etc are still linked ie for tracks 1 and 2 it still says V2=V2, and it looks like there is data on both tracks 1 and 2 V2.

Does this mean that once i have recorded in stereo, then all the other virtual tracks for these two tracks will be effectively stereo as well........or, as is very likely, am I missing something.

No mate, just press both buttons (1 and 2 in this case) to unlink them.
