Started by phil1966, November 06, 2009, 05:54:11 AM

Hi all had br for a few weeks been having a play. I have looked through manual which is not bad . What i would like to find out is how to use gtr fx on inboard mic with acoustic guitar. Do you have to put the effects on before recording or in the mixing stage. Thanks in advance for your help. Phil.

hi phil, i use guitar effects through the onboard mic quite a lot but there are only a few that are suitable for vox, there should be more that can be used with an acoustic but never tried it yet. what to do is turn on your mbr open your song press input and select mic, then press effects then using the left cursor  move the underline on the screen to mc then press the minus value once, screen will now say gt. go back to cursor and move underscore to under the number then use the plus and minus values to select an effect, a lot of the effects are quite loud so turn down the sns or input level depending on the effect. a few effects give a fake stereo result so experiment with recording to two tracks ie 1 and 2 panning track 1 full left and track 2 full right and you will get a stereo effect on certain effects tho not all of them.

hope that makes sense.

In the FX settings, the Location (LOC) setting of the FX is very important.
You can choose:
Input (Record Dry): you HEAR the FX while recording, but the actual track is recorded WITHOUT FX
Input (Normal): you HEAR the FX while recording, and that is exactly what ends up on the track
Track 1-4: the FX is applied to the playback track 1-4. This is useful when you want to add FX to an existing track. You can use it in BOUNCE mode, to record the result to a new (V-)track.
