Tangled Wires

Have not heard this song before, but a brilliant performance and you have eeked everything out of the BR in terms of production...one of the most professional sounding songs on the BR that I have heard

Thanks for the comments everyone!

'T' -  No micing the cabs on this one.  Guitars and bass were direct-in to the M-BR, electronic drum kit to the line-in and on-board mic for the vocals.

One of these days I'm gonna take my own advice and quit putting too much reverb on the lead vocal.   ::)

Glad that some of you other folks saw the documentary on the Funk Brothers too. Real old-school pros, heh?  I didn't really pay that much attention the Motown records 'back in the day' but think it's pretty amazing now to hear what they were doing and competing on the world market with a 'cottage industry'.  The Beatles were big fans of Motown, especially the Marvelettes....

But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

Crazy, crazy good.  You do the Funk Brothers proud (yes, a great documentary).  Great production as always.  The vocal reverb did strike me, not because it was too much but because it sounds like the guitar is in a different sonic space.  It certainly works here as this track just sounds killer.

I'm a fan.

just rereading this thread i failed to spot it was all done solely with the mbr, as i know you often import stuff into sonar and produce your songs there.

Hooper, saw this one posted a while back and been to busy to get to it. I'm listening on my "radio mix" low quality speakers and it sounds superb. That's my real test of quality production, and this has it in spades. Great clear sounds all round, lovely balance on the mix and it sounds superb. Guitars just sound great. I don't think there's too much reverb, the vox sound great to me. But I don't know the original.

Fantastic job, a real pleasure to listen to.

Cheers,
