Micro BR as field recorder

I'm looking for a low cost, small digital recorder for recording impulses for convolution reverbs and for general ambience recordings.

Does anybody use the Micro BR for this? How suitable is it. Most portable recorders seem to start at double the price.

I am familiar with convolution reverbs, but have never recorded my own impulses. Do they need to be recorded in stereo?
If so, you would then need a stereo mic. The built in mic sounds good and is pretty quiet.
The MBR can power an electret type mic. Which are useful and cheap.
Many of us in this forum have bought , or even made them.
