Dream time sunrise.

Flash Harry

I bought a synth, the GAS bit me in the ass and I went to the shop and came out with a Roland SH-201. I was wanting a Korg R3, but that can wait until another day.

It's awesome, and I don't say that lightly, it's flexibility and tweakability are impresive and it will take me months and months to get to grips with it.

Anyway, like a typical techy, I threw the manual away and started to fiddle. Frustrating at first but then I started to get the hang of some bits of it and I noodled for a while.
This is the start of my noodles. I know it's repetitive and it's too long before it eventually goes nowhere (my daughter is my harshest critic, and most honest in the most blunt way possible) but I thought I'd post it.

This is great! Love all the sweeping you've got going on, and it sounds like you've already got a handle on it, to my ears!  8)

But of course, synthesizers are endlessly variable, especially when they've got twiddly knobs on them... Looking forward to hearing where you go with it!

Cheers,

FHY - Wouldn't have been out of place on a number of Pink Floyd albums, so well done for that. And I wouldn't get discard this at all (Daughter's disaproval notwithstanding), it's got bags of potential to work on.

Way to go Flash, I also have a SH-201 and love it, it really is a great synth for the price.  I have done like you and just dove in with the knobs and sliders and such, creating sounds I like then saving them.  It is endless what you can do soundwise.  Good choice Flash. This sounds really good, it is kinda spooky sounding, nice one.  Your a synth guy now, awsome.

That's the same synth Dave(BB) has! It's a pretty good unit.

Glad you are having fun with your new toy. I droned away listening while wondering how I'm going to pay my bills  :D
