I have the yamaha psr295 keyboard that I want to record on my br.  I have plugged a cable from the headphone jack of keyboard into mic 1 of br. That does not work, and tried mic 2 with no success.

Make sure you check the input on the br.  little button on the right. Hook it up like you were going through your amp. Go in the guitar input.  Make sure the input is set to guitar and make sure you then hit the effects button and turn effects off! You should be set to go. That is how I run my Yamaha Keyboard through the guitar input. Hopefully this helps some.

The best way is to actually connect it to the Line In mini-jack on the BR; that way you have the best signal strength and easiest way to record in stereo (when desired).
