Song Volume Changes When Importing

I created a playlist in iTunes of mp3's I wanted to practice guitar to. They all sounded equal in volume. After the import some mp3's had drastic volume changes. I had the output volume cranked on the Micro BR and a few mp3's I could barely hear but the others were fine. What's causing the volume changes? Is this a iTunes issue?

Keniko,

In iTunes you can jack the volume of your MP3 files. Don't know what it is on PC but on Mac: File/Get Info/Options/Volume Adjustment. It's set at 50% by default. Jack it, press OK and your volume will be substantially louder when you transfer the MP3 to the Micro.

    I'm aware of the volume adjustment in the Get Info window. In my playlist the volumes of the mp3's all match. The problem is in the import. When imported some mp3's volumes are drastically changed to where you can barely hear them. Somethings happening during the import process. Any ideas?
